To ensure clarity, narrative flow, and broader audience engagement, stories may be written or adapted into a third-person perspective, while preserving the original intent and essence of the contributor’s voice.

2.2. Submission Guidelines

By submitting any text, story, image, audio, video, or other material (“User Content”), you confirm and represent that:

  • The information you provide is true, accurate, and based on your personal knowledge or authorized sources.
  • You have full rights, permissions, and authority to share the content.
  • Your submission does not violate any applicable laws.
  • Your content does not infringe on the privacy, intellectual property, or rights of any third party.
  • Your content does not contain defamatory, harmful, illegal, or misleading information.
  • You understand and acknowledge that The People Story does not conduct fact-checking or verification of personal narratives.
  • You grant The People Story a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable license to:
    • Use, edit, reproduce, narrate, translate, adapt, transform
    • Publish, distribute, market, and display the content on any platform or medium.

2.3. Accuracy, Authenticity & Responsibility

Narratives published on The People Story are created using the experiences, details, and accounts shared by contributors.

While our editorial team may adapt submissions for readability or flow:

  • Contributors remain entirely and solely responsible for the truth, authenticity, and accuracy of the content they provide.
  • Published stories may reflect personal recollections, subjective experiences, or individual viewpoints.
  • The People Story makes no warranties regarding the completeness, accuracy, or factual correctness of user-submitted content.

Liability Clause:

The People Story is not liable for:

  • False, inaccurate, or misleading statements made by contributors
  • Defamatory or harmful claims within submitted stories
  • Personal disputes, damages, or reputational issues arising from published content
  • Any legal, civil, or criminal consequences resulting from a contributor’s submission
  • Any actions or claims brought by third parties related to the content

The contributor bears full legal responsibility for their submission and its consequences.

2.4. Editorial Rights

To maintain quality and safety, The People Story reserves the right to:

  • Edit User Content for grammar, tone, clarity, structure, length, and narrative consistency
  • Rewrite stories in third-person perspective or adjust presentation for readability
  • Decline, delay, or reject submissions that violate guidelines
  • Remove or modify content that is harmful, unlawful, inappropriate, or misleading
  • Add editorial notes or disclaimers when necessary

However, we do not alter the core essence of a story unless requested or approved by the contributor. All editorial decisions by The People Story are final.

2.5. Attribution

We make reasonable efforts to credit contributors appropriately and accurately.

However:

  • Final decisions regarding naming, anonymization, presentation style, and attribution remain solely with The People Story’s editorial and creative teams.
  • Contributors may request anonymity, but anonymity is not guaranteed if required by law, court order, or legal process.

2.6. License & Use of Published Content

Once submitted and approved for publication:

  • The People Story may use the content across its website, social media platforms, newsletters, marketing materials, and partner channels.
  • Contributors understand that published stories may reach broad local and international audiences.
  • The People Story is not obligated to publish, promote, or retain any submission.

2.7. No Expectation of Compensation

Unless explicitly agreed in writing:

  • Contributors submit content voluntarily
  • No compensation, payment, or royalties are owed to contributors for publication or use of their stories

Intellectual Property

1. Our Content

Articles, visuals, designs, logos, and branding on the website are owned by The People Story.

2. Limited License for Users

You may:

  • Read articles
  • Share content via social media sharing tools

You may not:

  • Copy
  • Republish
  • Sell
  • Reproduce
  • Create derivative works

without prior written permission.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:
