From a small village in Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, to the bustling streets of Tokyo, Murugan Nallusamy’s journey is one of quiet strength and relentless consistency. An IT professional by career and a runner by passion, he embodies the belief that true transformation begins with a single step.
After completing his MCA from AVVM Sri Pushpam College, Thanjavur, Murugan moved to Japan, where life soon became a rhythm of work, deadlines, and expectations. But somewhere between the lines of code and corporate meetings, he felt a void, a need for clarity and calm. That’s when running entered his life, not as an exercise but as an escape, a form of therapy that reconnected him with himself.
What began as a few evening jogs slowly became a life-altering habit. There were tough days, exhaustion, rain, and moments of doubt, but he showed up anyway. “Consistency is more powerful than motivation,” he says, a truth he learned on the road. Over time, those small steps added up to something extraordinary: more than 10,000 kilometers in three years.
Running taught Murugan lessons no classroom ever could — resilience, patience, and self-belief. Each stride became a reminder that progress isn’t loud; it’s built in silence, one day at a time.
His message is simple yet profound:
“If you ever feel stuck, start small. Don’t wait for the perfect time. Just take that first step. Ordinary effort, done daily, creates extraordinary results.”
Murugan’s story proves that sometimes, the road you run on becomes the path that leads you back to yourself.
