From Medical Dream to Racetrack Legend: Raghul Rangasamy’s Unstoppable Rise

The first time Raghul Rangasamy sat behind the wheel of a race car, he knew life would never be the same. Born in Mamallapuram near Chennai, he was once on the path to becoming a doctor. But his true heartbeat was not in medical classrooms; it was on the racing track.

At 19, with no karting background and no family legacy in motorsport, Raghul chose the road less travelled. What began as an unlikely leap soon turned into a blazing journey. By 2013, he was already on the podium. By 2015 and 2016, he was crowned a National Champion.

Raghul’s career is a story of grit written on asphalt. From dominating the F1300 Rookie Cup with seven wins in ten races to clinching double titles in 2018, the MRF F1600 and JK Tyre LGB F4, his rise was unstoppable. His victories even took him to the Mazda Road to Indy shootout in the U.S., a dream platform for racers worldwide.

Honoured as the Upcoming Motorsports Person of the Year by FIA President Jean Todt in 2019, Raghul did not just collect trophies. He became a mentor. From guiding young drivers to leading teams in the Indian Racing League, he continues to shape the future of Indian motorsport.

Today, he stands as one of India’s most versatile racers, with championships on circuits from Chennai to Hyderabad. Raghul’s journey is proof that passion, when chased fearlessly, can outpace every obstacle.

From a medical classroom to the roar of engines, he became not just a racer but a symbol of dreams in full throttle.
