From IT Engineer to Trailblazing Motorcycle Racer: The story of Shuria

In a small town like Trichy, Tamil Nadu, where dreams often stay within safe boundaries, Shuria dared to chase freedom, both in life and on the open track. By day, she is a Senior Engineer in IT Communications for a leading bank. By passion, she is a motorcycle racer, breaking into a sport that is still largely male-dominated in India.

Shuria’s journey began unexpectedly. After completing her degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, she spent over a decade building a stable IT career, seeking financial independence. Racing hadn’t even been on her radar until one day, she took her bike to the track instead of just riding on the streets. The moment she felt more alive and free than ever, it became clear that this was where she belonged.

Starting at 31, Shuria faced the challenges of entering a sport that favors early starters. Racing demanded discipline, resources, and constant practice — often hard to access in India. Injuries, societal doubts, and the struggle to find sponsorships tested her resilience. Yet, each setback only strengthened her resolve.

Racing soon became more than a sport; it reshaped her life. Her fitness, nutrition, sleep, and mindset all aligned with her goal of becoming a better racer. Through her journey, Shuria discovered a deeper purpose: inspiring other women to follow their passion, no matter the obstacles.

Her message is clear: love what you do, fight for it fiercely, and let every struggle shape you. Shuria isn’t just racing bikes; she is breaking barriers, carving a path for women in Indian motorsports, and proving it’s never too late to find your true calling.
