Vritika always dreamed of a creative life. During the pandemic, with a phone in hand and curiosity as her guide, she began learning filmmaking through YouTube and online courses, experimenting with stories and frames that felt like home.

She moved to Mumbai with a heart full of stories and a camera in hand, starting her career as an assistant director and camerawoman. The long days on set taught her the craft but also sparked a deeper question: was assisting someone else’s vision truly what she wanted for her life?

One day, she decided to take a bold step. With no filters and no rehearsals, she recorded a raw reel on Instagram, sharing her dream of making her own film. The reel went viral almost instantly, drawing support from strangers and even big names in the industry. That moment became the catalyst for the journey she had longed for but hadn’t yet dared to fully pursue.

Encouraged by the response, Vritika spent months writing her first feature film with co-writers Kundan Sad and Hormaz Bhesania. Every scene and dialogue reflected her unique vision. When the screenplay was complete, she reached out to some who had publicly supported her dream, yet many did not respond.

Undeterred, she began pitching her film independently. Nine months of meetings, calls, and rejections later, a producer has yet to be found. The first few rejections were hard, but over time she learnt to trust the process, believing that one day it would all make sense.

Through it all, Vritika remains steadfast, fuelled by the love and encouragement of those who believed in her.
