A Woman Who Turned Every Mile Into a Fight for Freedom – Gayatri

In the quiet lanes of Kolhapur, a young woman once dreamed of something unusual — not a home, not a career, but the hum of an engine beneath her and endless roads ahead.

That woman is Gayatri, a passionate motorcyclist, solo adventurer, and founder of GP Travo Expeditions, a travel company curating domestic and international motorcycle tours.

Her journey began in 2016, driven by curiosity and a quiet rebellion against the belief that women couldn’t ride. Coming from a conservative Gujarati family, Gayatri faced disbelief, restrictions, and the physical challenge of handling powerful bikes.

But she never stopped. Through harsh terrains, rains, snowfall, and no-road zones, she kept riding. In 2017, during the treacherous Ladakh route, a fall left her with a hairline crack in her leg. Yet, she continued riding through Spiti Valley and back to Kolhapur — 15 days with a swollen, broken leg.

In 2018, she completed her first international ride from Kolhapur to Bhutan and back, and the same year, entered the RERM National Dirt Race, emerging as a National Dirt Race Winner.

A year later, an accident left her with a torn ligament. As she healed, she mapped her biggest dream—the All-India Solo Ride (2020–2021), covering 30,000 km across every state and union territory.

Today, a two-time India Book of Records holder with over 40 awards, Gayatri rides not just for herself but for every woman who dreams of freedom.

Beyond the thrill, she is on a mission to spread awareness about road safety and traffic sense in India, inspiring riders to adopt the same discipline and respect seen abroad.
