A Village Girl With Fire in Her Heart Conquers 18 Gold Medals – Pratibha Thakkadpally

In the remote village of Pitlam, Kamareddy, young Pratibha Thakkadpally often wondered how far she could go in a world full of doubts. Surrounded by traditional expectations, she secretly nurtured a passion for martial arts, inspired by legends like Mary Kom and Mike Tyson. Her determination would soon set her on a path few dared to tread.

Moving to Hyderabad was the first step toward her dreams. Every early morning, every gruelling training session, and every bruise and setback shaped her into a formidable fighter. From boxing, she expanded her expertise to kickboxing, taekwondo, Muay Thai, MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wushu, silambam, and even chess boxing. Each discipline was a new challenge, and Pratibha faced them all with unyielding resolve.

Her dedication bore fruit on the international stage. She has won 18 gold medals, 4 silver, and 1 bronze, including a silver at the 7th Chess Boxing World Championship in Serbia, marking her 23rd global accolade. Yet her journey isn’t defined by medals alone. An MBA graduate pursuing psychology studies, she is committed to growth beyond the ring, blending intellect with strength.

Pratibha has empowered over 6,000 girls through self-defence training, conducting workshops across schools, the Telangana Police Academy, and IIT Madras. She dreams of creating a community of confident women who can face life’s challenges fearlessly.

From a remote village to international glory, Pratibha Thakkadpally’s story is one of courage, perseverance, and breaking barriers. She proves that passion, grit, and determination can transform dreams into reality — inspiring countless others to rise, fight, and shine.
