Breaking the Silence: The Women Behind Miyara Health

In India, conversations about menopause are often hushed, hidden behind closed doors. But for Gayatri Muthukrishnan and Sanjana Rao, two scientists with global research experience, that silence was deafening.

In 2019, a LinkedIn connection brought them together. Both had seen how women in their late 30s and 40s struggled — not because of the symptoms alone, but because no one had prepared them for this stage of life. Their survey revealed shocking truths: women unaware of what menopause really meant, doctors dismissing symptoms, and unnecessary surgeries due to misdiagnosis.

Refusing to let this continue, they launched Miyara Health in 2022—a digital platform dedicated to midlife women’s health. From a free health assessment covering 40+ parameters to an AI-powered chatbot (an upcoming app) that answers questions 24/7, Miyara offers science-backed guidance, symptom management programmes, and most importantly, a community of support.

In just one year, they’ve reached over 10,000 women through corporate workshops and online programmes, helping women manage symptoms like insomnia, hot flashes, stress, and mood changes — with an 83% improvement rate reported.

Miyara is more than a health startup; it’s a movement to normalise conversations, empower women with knowledge, and bring menopause into mainstream health discussions.

Because no woman should face midlife in silence.
