The Woman Whose Voice Travels Where Words Cannot Go – Haritha Mutharasan

In the quiet corners of her childhood home, while most kids scribbled with crayons, little Haritha was already drawing her world, quite literally. Barely two and a half years old, she found magic in lines and colours. When her mother handed her toddler drawing books, she unknowingly nurtured the first spark of creativity in a girl who would one day sprint, struggle, and shine across some of life’s toughest tracks.

Long before she learnt to chase medals or face cameras, Haritha learnt to dream. Her mornings began before dawn. While the world slept, Haritha was already on the track, running toward a future she could barely see but deeply believed in. After practice came school, then another round of training, and finally the long wait for the bus home. Nights ended late, but her spirit never dimmed. Finances were tight, yet she never let that define her race.

Recognising her talent and the medals she had already earned, St Joseph’s Institute of Technology welcomed her with open arms. Even in school, Haritha represented Tamil Nadu, competing as a national-level athlete and collecting countless medals along the way. But even as she rose in sports, another battle waited in the film industry. There, rejection wasn’t about skill but about appearance. “People made it sound like only size-zero actresses were human,” she recalls. Still, Haritha refused to shrink her dreams to fit society’s frames. Each setback only sharpened her strength.

When life demanded reinvention, she listened — this time, to sound. Today, Haritha is an internationally recognised sound healer, known for her multi-instrumental artistry and compassion. Over 800 people across the world have experienced her healing, and her work has even taken her to the UK.

She believes every human is a universe — unseen, complex, and deserving of kindness.

From racing on tracks to resonating through sound, Haritha’s journey is proof that true victory is not about crossing a finish line; it is about finding harmony within and helping others do the same.
